UAMS 3 Minute Thesis Competition
3 Minute Thesis, or 3MT®. 3MT® is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia, whereby students engaged in research have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT® challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. Students have 1 slide and 3 minutes to give a presentation. If students go over 3 minutes they are disqualified. The winner and runner up at each college competition present at Student Research Day. Submission Form due on or before: 4:30 PM, Monday, February 17
Final PowerPoint Slide due on or before: 12 Noon, Friday, February 21. Please format slide in Slide Size Widescreen 16:9 and submit to Leslie Humphries at HumphriesLeslieF@uams.edu.
3 MT Finals of the top two winners in each college will be held on Student Research Day at 1PM, Tuesday, March 10th in I. Dodd Wilson (IDW).
Semi-finals for each College are listed below. All will be held from 3-5:30 pm in Pauly Auditorium (Rahn G219) with the exception of the Northwest Arkansas Campus (NWA). NWA will be determined at a later date.
Wednesday, February 26 – Graduate School, College of Public Health, College of Health Professions, College of Pharmacy, & College of Nursing
Thursday, February 27 – College of Medicine
Friday, February 28 – Make-up Day (If needed)
