PhD candidates (post-qualifier) have the opportunity with permission from their mentors to teach at one of our undergraduate partner institutions. This is usually 1 or 2 lectures under the supervision of an undergraduate faculty member. Students will also present their lecture to the GSTCA leadership prior to teaching.
A certificate will be made as documentation that students have completed the GSTCA training. In order to receive this certificate (this is not a degree), students must attend at least 1 GSTCA seminar each semester and complete the Faculty Teaching training module on Blackboard (contact Dr. Sterba for access). A list of available seminars can be found on the Announcements/Upcoming Seminars page. The certificate is available for all students and postdoctoral fellows.
For more information, please contact Dr. Kristen Sterba (firstname.lastname@example.org).
